Internet Chamber Privacy Policy

The Internet Chamber of Commerce ("ICC" or "Internet Chamber") has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to the privacy and security of information concerning our members and visitors to our Web site. The following discloses the information gathering and dissemination practices for our organization and for the Internet Chamber of Commerce Web site: http://www.icc.org.

Registration Information

Upon registering with the ICC, via our Web site or at an ICC event, our organization (may) request individual name, organization name, and preferred contact information such as postal address, telephone or facsimile number, e-mail address, or Internet site URL.

Requested registration information for membership in a LEADS group includes name, organization name, title, postal address, telephone and facsimile numbers, e-mail address, and Internet site URL. The individual may be requested to provide additional information as required for participation in the LEADS group.

Use of the Information

The information you provide to the ICC is used to contact our members, and in keeping with the mission of the ICC, this information is used to facilitate member networking. The information collected is included in the online membership directory. (Members are given the option upon registration to have membership information included/excluded in directory).

However, because the Internet Chamber is committed to preventing the "spamming" (sending unsolicited commercial e-mail) of members by third parties, the ICC does not otherwise disseminate member information to third parties.

E-mail Lists

The ICC maintains four e-mail lists:

(1) icc-news - Announcement of Internet Chamber meetings and other events of potential interest to members
(2) icc-talk - Public discussions of Internet business issues
(3) icc-nco - Northern Colorado chapter meeting announcements
(4) icc-vol - Announcement of volunteer opportunities for members

Members are automatically added to the icc-news e-mail list upon registration. In order to receive the icc-talk, icc-nco, and/or icc-vol lists, the member must make a request at the Add or Remove Yourself from E-mail List page at http://www.icc.org/list/index.html.

Users may be removed from any of the lists by making a request via:

1. Add or Remove Yourself from E-mail List http://www.icc.org/list/index.html
2. An e-mail message to Terry Freeman at tfreeman@icc.org
3. Phone call to our office at (303) 691-0404

Use of IP Addresses

The ICC Web site collects aggregate information site-wide, including anonymous site statistics. The Web site logs domain names and/or IP addresses for systems administration purposes. These statistics enable the ICC to know which aspects of the ICC site are popular and those which are not.

Cookies

The ICC Web site does not currently use "cookies" technology. A cookie is information about the Web site visit, which the web browser receives from the Web site, and then stores on the visitor's hard drive. The Web site then "reads" the information each time the user visits the site. This information includes the visitor's Internet Service Provider, the kind of computer and software used, the originator's Web site, as well as which files were accessed and the amount of time spent on each page.

This information is used to track visits to the Web site to learn what visitors like and dislike about the site, and to personalize the site so that options the user selects at the first visit can be used automatically for each successive visit. As such, the information collected does not usually identify a specific individual.

If this site later decides to use cookies, the ICC will amend this privacy statement and will notify you of such changes through an icc-news announcement. We will also flag such changes on the ICC's home page.

Links

This site contains links to other Web sites. The ICC is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these sites.

Security and Access

The ICC maintains appropriate safeguards to ensure the security, integrity, and privacy of the information provided by its members. However, we are not responsible for any breach of security.

The ICC has sole control over its membership list and access to the list except where the member has given permission to be included in the online membership directory.

Notification of Changes

As the Internet Chamber creates new services that may trigger a need to amend this privacy statement, we will notify you of such changes through an icc-news announcement. We will also flag such changes on the ICC's home page.
